"Doom 2" Skulltag April 25

It’s time to return to hell and get some serious oldschool frags on.

You’ll need 2 files:

SkullTag version 97D3 (released on March 17, 2009) (Available for Windows and Linux)

Legit copy of Doom2.wad or other compatible open source iwad

Unzip Skulltag, copy over your doom2.wad. Run skulltag.exe. Setup all your options. Remember to set your player options like name and skin under Multiplayer > Player Setup.

Then quit out of all menus, hit ~ to pull down the console, and type “connect doom.hak5.org”

The Hak.5 Doom2 server is not listed on the global directory, you must connect to it manually at doom.hak5.org

after reading this decided to write up a quick install skulltag with freedoom in ubuntu linux howto for the hak5 wiki

if you guys wanna make skulltag really, really fun please, please, PLEASE lower the gravity to 60% (sv_gravity 480) raise aircontrol to 5% (sv_aircontrol 0.05) make a maplist with maps that are large and have alot of open space (I.E. map12) and set the gamemode to Team Last Man Standing to make it a bit more like quake3-Clan Arena and youl be golden.

PS: having a ton of retarded n00b0ts who dont shut the hell up in the server is also a bit frustrating, might wanna rethink that, it might jsut be the reason no one is playing on the server.
these are only suggestions anyway.

now if only there were a serverside command equivalent of the turbo command so the gamespeed could be lowered and players woud gain higher speeds only by bunnyhoping then this would be perfect setup.

Can't wait for this LAN party, I just started playing Skulltag today and I noticed the new Hak5 episode out and I'm glad I watched it :)

The server is probably down until the actual LAN party starts; if I remember correctly it starts at 3pm Central

4 PM EST is about 9 PM GMT for any other UK guys and gals.
I'll probably come only about 10 PM GMT.

you guys are kinda excluding mac users here...i have doom legacy but i don't think its compatible with skulltag. too bad, i was achin for some fun old school multiplayer action.
